SWITCH BOARD UPGRADES
Do you have old re-wireable type fuses inside your electrical distribution board? We can replace them with modern safety switches (RCDs) which don't have rewireable fuse wire that needs replacing every time the fuse blows.

Older homes tend to be using the older style fuse-wire switchboards. These fuses use fuse-wire to protect your wiring and thereby minimise the risk of electrical fires. When a circuit becomes overloaded the fuse wire melts and stops the flow of electricity to the circuit. In newer homes, this same protection is achieved using modern circuit breakers (RCDs).

Often we find that the home owner has used the incorrect fuse wire and has inadvertently created a very, very dangerous situation. They have over-rated the fuse for which it was intended and hence a fire could result. Fuse wire is an outdated method that needs to be replaced by the new breed of circuit breakers.

Another major reason for a switchboard upgrade is the safety switches it incorporates. These safety switches are designed to trip when there is an imbalance or irregularity in the circuit such as an earth fault.

There are many other positive reasons for an upgrade which we can fully explain - why not give us a call? and sleep better at night knowing your fuseboard is working correctly to protect you and your family.

This is an old rewirable fuseboard.

We replaced it with this (below). All tested to regulations and safety switches in place
